four girls??!!

I always wanted 3 children. After our 2 girls, we moved etc. and never did. I was turning 35, and didn't want any surprises in my forties! we figured we would "try" for a boy and if, after a year, we didn't concieve, one of us would get fixed. People joked, that after 8 years, we would wind up w/ twins. Well... at my 8 wk. ck. up, feeling soooo sick, an ultrasound showed TWO babies! We were devestated and figured 1 had to be a boy! So, 20 wk. ultrasound showed TWO girls! My husband's face was priceless! They are fraternal twins who are now two yrs. My others are 11 and 14. Couldn't be happier! Not easy, but the older ones do babysit so we can have "date nights". I feel truly blessed (most of the time) to be chosen to be a mom of four girls! I hope they grow to be powerful, smart, successful women. A side note: I ate ALOT of sweet potatoes while watching carbs, prior to conceiving! I have read that on this site...who knows? :)

What?!?!

First of all, I have a 3 yr old son and 1 yr old daughter. Both were conceived with the help of Clomid. Before Christmas, it came to my attention that I was so tired I couldn't function & the nagging stomach "virus." I simply couldn't be pregnant. I wasn't on clomid, and I was still bfeeding my daughter! After some urging from a pregnant friend, I tested. Sure enough, we were expecting #3. My husband, who wished for twins with every pregnancy, tells me we'd know we were finished if this was twins...DundundunDUN! Due to my fertility issues, I hadn't a clue how pregnant I was! An ultrasound proved us to be 11 weeks, and we were given a pic of our little angel. The night before appointment #2 at 15 weeks, my sister teases me about having two. I assure her I have seen this baby and it is one! I even show her the pic! I go alone to the appt. My dr repeats several times, "How did I miss this?" There are TWO! Gasp! I'm adjusting now. 4 kids under 4! Bring it! :-) Life is good!

How we found out we were having Triplets

On the day of the ultrasound We thought for sure we would go and see a little "beanie baby" on the screen with a heartbeat. My friends wanted me to video tape the ultrasound so they could hear the heartbeat. So, I had my cell phone in my hand as I lay on the table. In front of me on the wall was a wonderfully clear wall mounted flat screen monitor for easy viewing. Very nice!Well with my phone in my hand, the tech put the thing on my stomach and I immediately saw 2 babies! I gasped for breath! I said "there's 2?" and my sister said "Twins?" so excitedly in a high pitch.... I dropped my cell phone. I picked it back up... I couldn't believe it.... I pressed record again and you can hear the ultrasound tech say.."oh my gosh... are you fertility?" and I said" no... there is only 2 in there right?" ... and she says "there's 3" my sister says "please make sure before you scare her" and I dropped the phone again. This couldn't be right, was sure it was a dream and i'd wake up any time. AMAZING

Questionable

I am unsure as to weather or not I am having twins, my ultrasound is next week. When I went to the doctors last Tuesday she said my uterus was very large and she predictied I was 15 weeks along, well, within the time frame that I must have gotten pregnant, that makes no sense at all. I didn't believe twins were in my side of the family. I contacted my grandmother that I had not spoken to in ten years and she tells me that her mother was a twin as well as her!! There is a very high chance I am having twins. This is my first pregnancy so I am very scared, but I have support. As well, the father keeps joking around about it. I told him if I am I hope I have two girls just to make him mad, but in the end he can blame that on his own body.

Christmas Surprise!

We found out we were expecting just before Christmas this year. It was completely unexpected, we had no intentions of trying for more children at all; we have a little girl and a little boy, and that is plenty! Not to mention the fact that life is such a struggle right now, you know what I mean? So to put it bluntly we were shocked to be expecting our 3rd child. My husband had been making jokes, "since this is our last Hurrah, let's go out in style and make it twins!" Very funny. How ironic that at our first appointment yesterday our doctor pointed to the two tiny fluttering heartbeats! There is no history of twins in either of our families, so we never actually considered this a possibility, and you can imagine how badly I wanted to punch my husband. But, all joking aside, despite all the struggles, it is a blessing, and a real miracle. They will be truly loved!

I just knew it...

We decided to try for a boy when we decided I should stay home from work. When we found out I was pregnant it took a few days for the symptoms to start. My test was even faint at first, but still positive. A few days later I started feeling bloated and so tired I would wake up get my daughter ready for school and go back to sleep til my other daughter woke up. Being pregnancy number 3 and I'm older with my dad being a twin and my husband being a twin my mommy intuition told me that these exagerated symptoms meant something. We went to the dr's for our first check up at 9 weeks and we joked with the dr about it being twins. Then he does the ultrasound and says how did you know about the twins? I'm now 12 weeks and Just found out this week they are identical! I can't wait to find out if they are girls or boys. This is so exciting!

You've got to be kidding!

I had to twist my husbands arm to get him to come to my first appointment. It's my first pregnancy, and I wanted him to be there in case something was wrong and I needed to make a decision. My gynecologist no longer practices obstectrics, but she performed the intravaginal ultrasound. She poked around for a few minutes, then waved my husband over and turned the screen so we could all see. Then she says "Well, theres baby number one..." I didnt let her finish before I burst into laughter. My husband was grinning from ear-to-ear. When we both called our moms they didnt believe us at first! Everyone had been joking with me from the beginning about having twins, well the jokes on them!

Mono/mono Twins at 19

I woke up one morning for work feeling exhausted laid there in bed feeling some soreness in my tummy and breasts finally I got the strength to get up and get ready for work. Half way through my shift my co workers couldn't help but tell me that my stomach look like it was sticking out of my shirt I just laughed and got back to work. After work I went to my boyfriends and decided that I needed a pregnancy test took it and come hold I was pregnant! But I had only just missed 1 period so I made a appointment and found out I was 5 weeks but why was my syptoms so strong? I went to my app at 8 weeks and had a ultrasound and there it was my baby but than there was another in the same sack the ultrasound tech was being very quiet and ask us to wait there for the doctor so the doctor came in and told us I was having mono mono twins which is very high risk and the babies only had 50% chance of staying alive I did everything the doctors told me to do wad hospitalized & had my daughters at 32 week

Sometimes it all works out!

I had been in a 15yr relationship and had tried for children for almost 10yrs. After 5 miscarriages, being told I couldnt have kids and alot of tears our relationship ended. I had been single for awhile when I met someone who I really wanted to spend my life with. We got pregnant on the first try and everyone was joking right away that it was twins (My Mom's a twin and there are twins on my Dad's side) When we went for our first ultrasound the Hubby and I saw two sacs and the tech said she wasn't sure what the other sac was but that it could be two. Hubby and I knew right away it was two, we had seen the babies even if she hadn't and sure enough when we had another ultrasound at 7weeks the tech showed us our two beautiful babies and their strong heartbeats!!! Sometimes it really does all work out!

Aaaaaaaaah!

My husband had been teasing me that we were going to have twins since the day we found out we were pregnant. It had taken a lot of convincing to get me to agree to a second baby (we had a 16-month-old), so his teasing really bothered me. Eventually I made him stop, and I told him that if it turned out to be twins I would hurt him because he had tempted fate. Well, when I went for my 12 Week ultrasound I got taken in first and sure enough there were two circles. The tech asked me, "how do you want me to tell you?" and I just said, "there's two, isn't there?" When my husband finally came in I told him I was going to hurt him - and he knew exactly what I was referring to, although he didn't believe me until the tech showed him on the screen!

Continued - sorry!

I waited till we were at the restaurant and told him that his hands felt sticky, so he went to go wash them. While he was washing up I asked the man at the next table if he would subtly video tape my husband because I was about to tell him we were having twins. Several of the table near us got excited (they were very nice!) and so my husband came back and asked me about the appt. I had today. I showed him the pictures of the ultrasound said, "See, here is a head. And here is another." He was all confused. So I had to spell it out. His reaction was priceless. THe biggest double take I have ever seen. We were excited. Now I am pregnant again with #6 and feeling VERY sick again. Do I even dare think it could be twins again?????!!! I always did want 7 children. 6 doesn't sound right :)

3rd pregnancy

With two little ones running around at home I was not anxious to make a lot of appointments. Finally, at almost five months I decided I might as well get in to see the obgyn. I had been feeling more sick and nauseaus but chalked it up to not being able to rest or relax and just getting older. I did however jokingly write in my journal that I was so sick that I must be having twins! I went in to my drs appot and the dr was concerned that I was so far along and hadn't been in so he thought we should do the ultrasound just to check things out and make sure everything was okay. Well, you know the story, they said they heard a heartbeat and then the nurse said, "Oh my goodness. There is another one!" I was truly shocked. I have no "mother's intuition" when it comes to predicting babies and genders etc. I started to cry, but I don't really know why, because I was so excited. My husband and I were planning on going out that night so I waited till we were at the

How I found out

I went to my seven week ultrasound (first visit) and the docotor said there were two heatbeats.
—Guest Shari

never thought it could happen to me.

But it did. We decided on just 1 more baby and then we would be parents of 3. Well from some complications I needed to get my Mirena IUD out and we tried just once to get pregnant and if it didn't happen we would wait a few months because we wanted a baby born in 2 particular months. It turns out that once was all it took. 13 days later I got a + test. I just knew it. I couldn't fit my jeans, I was nauseous... pretty much had a lot of symptoms. Come to find at my 7 week appointment I was only just over 6 weeks and there was 2. We joked about it and thought that it could be from all these early symptoms but never did I think it could happen to me.

i have an EXTREME headache

Well I kept having head aches everyday at 4 pm like clock work for about a week and a half. It got to the point where when I would start to get a head ache I would already know what time it was. I eventually decided to go to the doctor to check this problem out. When I got there they made me pee in a cup for a pregnancy test. I was all weirded out like FOR WHAT? I come to the dr. For a headache and I take a pregnancy test...backwards. well come to find out I was pregnant!! Not me. Not senior in college about to graduate goin to brazil this summer courtney whose pregnant. It can't be. So I was not planning on keepin the baby at all. I told the father of the baby, and he instantly called me a baby killer and said he didn't believe in abortions. So time passes and I am actually further along than I thought. I was almost 3 months preg. Well I'm at the clinic alone of course, paid the money, on the bed, and before they do the procedure the dr gives me an ultra sound...then states... YOUR HVING TWINS. I burst into tears. Not only ws a preg with twins, one of the babies head ws bigger then the tube. But that didn't matter...God did not want me to get rid of my precious baby girls. I am due any day now. My bad news turned into my biggest blessing. Guess tylonol couldn't fix this headache-
