Twins Names: Lea and Tabea Block
Birthdate: August 9, 2003
Hometown: Legmo, Germany
Type of Conjoined Twins: Craniopagus
Separation Date: The first separation attempt was made on Saturday, September 11th. It was halted when one of the twins became unstable, and was resumed on Wednesday, September 15th.
Separation Location: Johns Hopkins Childrens Center, Baltimore, Maryland
Separation Team: Dr. Benjamin Carson, Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery
Status: Tabea passed away shortly after being separated from her sister on Thursday, September 16, 2004 after attempts to resuscitate her were exhausted. Lea was in critical but stable condition following the surgery.
