Hide and seek is a classic game that children never tire of. Organize an indoor version within your home to occupy kids on wintry days. Families with multiples have an inherent benefit in this setting: double (or triple) the hiders or seekers!

Here are some tips to make the game more successful:

• Establish ground rules before the game starts: designate off limit areas, establish how the seeker(s) will be chosen, specify a time limit.
• With younger children, use the buddy system. Have twins hide together as a team, or pair up a child and a parent.
• Consider hiding things rather than people. Use a form of a Treasure Hunt game where the "it" person hide designated objects around the room. Then the rest of the players have to retrieve the hidden objects.
• Play Reverse Hide and Seek. Instead of one person being the seeker while the rest hide, designate one person to hide. The rest of the group searches.
• Here's another variation using a kitchen timer that ticks or beeps. Set the time for a reasonable amount (say five or ten minutes) and have the kids search for it. [/li
