"All the elaborate decorations, fragile ornaments, beautifully wrapped packages, etc., just don't stand a chance when there are curious twins or triplets in the house."
Any advice?

Families with twins, triplets or other multiples must be extra cautious to carefully childproof their homes However, the holiday season brings hidden hazards. Make sure your happy holidays aren't ruined by accident or injury. Follow these simple guidelines and tips to ensure that your family's packages and wrappings are safe.

* Is anything more enticing than a beautifully wrapped package? You won't be able to keep your twins or other multiples out of the packages, so keep the packages out of reach of your multiples if you don't want them opened before their time.

* Avoid wired ribbon around young children. The wires can poke through the fabric and the sharp edge could hurt tender skin or eyes.

* Don't let children play with lengths of ribbon longer than 7 inches to avoid the risk of strangulation.

* Don't throw packaging or wrapping into a fire. It could produce a flash flame or toxic fumes.

* Dispose of all plastic packaging, especially bags, so that little ones are tempted to turn it into a toy.

* Pick up and dispose of all foam "peanut" packing. It's just too tempting for little ones to chew (and possibly choke) on.
