How To Make Hot Cocoa

By Pamela Prindle Fierro, About.com

Nothing warms you up inside like a cup of hot chocolate or cocoa! Try this recipe with your twins or multiples on a cold winter day
Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: 10 minutes
Here's How:
  1. Bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
  2. Into a mug, measure 1/2 cup of nonfat dry milk powder, 1 1/2 tablespoonfuls of sugar and 1 1/2 tablespoonfuls of cooca powder.
  3. Repeat with a second mug -- you're making cocoa for twins, right?
  4. Divide boiling water between two mugs (1 cup per mug).
  5. Stir to dissolve.
  6. If desired, top with mini marshmallows and a dollop of whipped cream.
Tips:
  1. Do you know what the difference is between hot cocoa and hot chocolate? Hot chocolate is made with actual bits of chocolate melted into cream, while hot cocoa is made with a cocoa powder base.
  2. You can easily halve the recipe to make a cup for one -- or increase the measurements to make more cocoa.
What You Need:
  • water
  • teakettle or pot
  • mugs
  • nonfat dry milk powder
  • sugar
