Two-for-One Toys for Baby Twins

Tuesday November 30, 2004
A reader brought this special offer to my attention after reading the Two-for-One Toys article. While it's not actually two toys that babies can share, it's a buy-one-get-one-free offer from the manufacturers of Tiny Love soft developmental toys. In order to qualify for the discount, you must submit a qualification form, providing proof of your multiple birth, including a copy of birth certificates.

This is a great opportunity to stock up on baby toys such as the Gymini Activity Gym. Please note that the discount is only available on orders placed by calling Tiny Love directly, and not applicable at the online catalog or retail outlets. Please see the Tiny Love website for further details.

I know companies need to limit fraud, but I’m sick of companies wanting copies of birth certificates! There’s no way I would give out copies of my kids birth certificates! There’s no telling what these compaines privacy/security policies are. There’s too much identity theft going on to risk it and I think companies know this. I feel like companies use this to be able to say “We offer mutiples discounts” but then they don’t really have to because people are reluctant to give out birth certificates.
Grrr…just me venting!

Hi Kim — you make a really good point. You can’t be too careful about protecting personal information. I wonder why companies can’t come up with an alternative way to confirm a multiple birth, without putting families at risk.
