My twins are very excited about the release of the new Lion King 1 1/2 movie this week. The original Lion King -- along with the video release of the sequel, Simba's Pride, -- is one of their all-time favorite movies. They have dozens of Lion King character toys, from the giant plush Simba and Nala that decorate their bunkbeds, to a miniature Pride Land playset that contains 1/4" plastic pieces that are constantly being lost in the carpet.

Disney is releasing Lion King 1/2 on DVD and video on Tuesday, February 10th. (Guess what my girls are getting for Valentine's Day!) The new movie tells the story of the original saga from the perspective of Simba's punny pals, Timon the meerkat and Pumba the warthog, and features the hilarious voices of Nathan Lane and Ernie Sabella . Fans of the original will enjoy the replay of favorite songs like "Circle of Life" and "Hakuna Matata," while up and coming Disney star, Raven, brings a fresh voice to new musical numbers.
