Parent's Poll: Do Your Twins Go to Camp?

My twin daughters have always looked forward to going away to camp in the summertime. Since they were seven years old,

A two-night camp was the perfect introduction to summer camp - longer than a sleepover at a friend's house, but not too long (or too far away) for homesickness to develop. Through they years they've gone on to longer stints at other camps. While they have always gone together, they don't necessarily stay in the same cabin or participate in the same activities, so they have been able to individualize the experience.
Compared to many of their friends, my twins were definitely ready for an overnight camp at an earlier age, and I believe that it is because they would go together. Having the comforting presence of a twin sister made leaving home for a few days that much easier. Quite easy, in fact. They've never been hesitant to take off on an adventure. The homesickness probably impacts me more than them; there is nothing quieter than a house with twins off at camp!
I am not sure whether they'll be able to attend camp this year. Academic and athletic commitments make the schedule tricky this summer. But even if they don't find time for it this year, they'll treasure the memories from years past.
