Childbirth Classes for Parents of Multiples
Tuesday March 24, 2009
When I was pregnant with twins, I took a childbirth class through my local hospital. It wasn't aimed specifically at parents of multiples, but I was fortunate that another couple attending the class was also expecting twins, and the instructor was well-versed in the in intricacies of multiple pregnancy. She was careful to always address our particular issues. It was a wonderful learning experience for us, being brand new to the parenting gig. We enjoyed the opportunity to learn what to expect during the process of labor and delivery and practice some basic baby care procedures on dolls. The multi-week course also covered breastfeeding and concluded with a visit to the hospital's mother-baby unit.
While it wasn't an option for me, many locations are offering childbirth preparation classes with multiples in mind. But are they right for you? Find our more about childbirth preparation classes for parents of multiples.
