Forum Friday: Naming Twins

Friday March 20, 2009
boygirltwins writes: We are expecting boy/girl twins... We like the name Marley for a girl but cannot come up with a boy name that would go with it. (well not anything that we can agree on!) Our last name is Johnston so sometimes names ending in n sound a little too repetitive. Do you guys think sticking with M for both twins is a good idea?

Choosing names for twins is a big responsibility; the consequences of your choice last a lifetime for your children! There are many modes of thinking about names for multiples. In the past, trends leaned towards similar or rhyming names. In more recent years, parents tend towards nonmatching names. Ultimately, it's a family choice.

Readers, what do you think? Stop by the message forum and offer your suggestions to this mom. Would you recommend another M name for her boy twin? Or go another route? How did you choose your twins' names?
