This family has 2 sets of twins (Boy/Boy & Boy/Girl) and sextuplets (Boy/Boy/Boy/Girl/Girl/Girl) and their kids need more attention because 1 of their sextuplets, Rebecca, has cerible parsly. And the Gosselin’s life shows the glamour of having multiples, not how most cases turn out, like the Bailey’s, who have 4 of their sextuplets alive (2 died in the uterus from TTTS, were original identical girls, identical boys, fraternal boys only 4 survived), or like the McCoy’s (not rite speling)who have 2 o their septs have cerable parsly

I really enjoyed the LOVING, CARING Hayes family. Everybody gets along and looks out for each other, unlike the Gosselins.

The Hayes are a refreshing change from the Gosselins … I guess TLC was realizing that. I don’t really want to tune in to see Kate snipe at Jon or Maddy have another hissy fit. The Hayes are a real, regular family who allow their children to have fun and GASP even use markers. The Hayes children smile much more than the Gosselins … and no constant obnoxious talking back. I sure hope Maddy is in therapy.

I think the Gosselins have a wonderful family as do the Hayes. Why do we have to compare them with eachother, everyone has their own veiw on how to raise their families. The Gosselins must still intrigue you because you still watch them!

The way I see this type of programming is that we are endorsing the exposure of these minor children at the cost of the parents wanting to make some money. Now that being said, I have enjoyed JK+8 but as some have posted, enough of Kate! She really does have her hands full and I think with time she will mellow out some. What gets me is that she will drive an hour to a preschool for the children….hum…there has to be one closer!

Now the Hayes family, they were more in touch with reality and they permitted their children to be children.

Then there are the families of multiples that do have children that are not “typical” children and those are the ones that I feel are the true picture of having multiples. Watching the trials and tribulations of these families I believe would share a stronger story of how unity can keep a family moving forward.

Kate yelling at the kids and at John and having such high expectations is enough. Life is not like that and if it were not for the millions of people watching this show, her life and the life of these children would be much different.

Finally I guess if the govt. can bail out people then the viewers of these shows can bail out the families that turn to fert. treatments and have large numbers of children!

The Hayes family is so much better to watch than the Gosselins. I really hope TLC cancels J&K+8 and replaces it with “Twins, Twins, Sixtuplets.” The Duggars are just a creepy cult as far as I’m concerned, so they can’t cancel that one soon enough.

Unlike Jon Gosselin, Eric Hayes actually works to support his family. Unlike Kate Gosselin, the Hayes mom is not a neurotic, self-centered mess. The Hayes couple seems genuinely loving, emotionally mature, and compassionate, unlike the Gosselins who bicker at each other constantly and don’t have basic parenting skills.

I could go on and on, but I’m very turned off by the Gosselins and their freeloading ways. Kate is neurotic for sure, but she’s tuned out when it comes to her kids in many ways.

The Hayes are a much better alternative.

I would just like to say a few things. First off why does there have to be an alternative? To all of you who say that Kate is a control freak or has “ OCD”, are you even qualified to say those things. Unless you have a PhD, I’d say not.. As someone who has been around multiple children my entire life ( my mom does daycare)I would like to say that when you have that many kids, you HAVE to have control and rules in your home in order to stay sane. With out them you would be living in constant chaos. Sorry to break it to you kids need order, one thing I have learned is that kids like routine, with out it they cant behave properly on a day to day basis. So congrats to Kate for running her home so smoothly and with so much love in it. Which brings me to my next point. I have heard so often that Jon and Kate do not love their children. Of course they love their children. Why do you think they are even allowing a TV crew into their home four days a week? They are doing it so that they can give their kids everything that they ever imagined and more. They are giving them the childhood that they always wished to give their children whether it be one child or eight. For those of you that have read their book “ Multiple Blessings” you would know that the Gosselins went through very hard times upon finding out about their sextuplets. They never imagined that they would be able to give their children even half of what they have been able to do. It is evident just by watching the show that these parents love their children unconditionally and in an unbelievable way. Please do not tell me that if you had eight children to feed clothe, send to college and meet extra curricular needs, that you would not take the offer of being on reality TV if opportunity knocked. Also for the people who say that Jon and Kate do not love each other, just because they argue doesn’t mean they don’t love each other. Life with eight kids can be stressful. Arguments make for a healthy relationship. Keeping things bottled inside is not healthy. I bet if I asked each of you if you have ever argued with your spouse or been angry with your children, the answer would be yes. You just don’t do it over national television because you have not ever been given the opportunity to have your own TV show. One last thing, I have seen people write that the Gosselins do not portray the real lives of families with multiples because their children are healthy, what is wrong with you? Do not tell me that you wish that upon them! We should be thankful that these six children are healthy and beautiful. And if you need conflict to satisfy your needs, then please get a life!

I agree with most of these posts. I have much experience from working at a day care center. Kate is too much of a control freak. She treats her husband like a dog. She has a serious case of OCD. She also talks down to everyone she is ever around. I will not buy the book. I think the show should be cancelled. I think they show the glamorous part of multiples. Not the norm where some make it and some don’t. It is very rare in multiples for all to survive. And when you start fertility treatments before you give nature chance. Too many people ae jumping to fertility treatments. They are jsut to anxious. And I agree that the Duggars are a strange cult. Their children could not last 1 week in the real world today. Do they think their kids will remain in their own little world forever.

I realy enjoyed watching the Hayes family & would love to see that as part of the TLC line up. They appear to be a very real family & it dealt w/every day issues,not trips to Legoland & Oprah. The children are allowed to be children & can get messy & play in the back yard. They help each other out.

I watch J&K+8 & enjoy the kids,but don’t like the interaction between J&K & feel Maddy needs some rules/limits re her attitude. The kids aren’t allowed to be messy,to really enjoy being a kid. To much tension in the house.

I watch the Duggers occasionaly,interesting to see how happy they are,nice to see the parents interaction,seems when parents are calm-children grow up relaxed & happy as well. There is a lot of respect in this family.

then you would know that they did give a nature a chance, a big chance
not everyone is able to conceive naturally its a fact of life
and i do not know what daycare you worked in but, from my experince children need the kind of structure that kate provied them with.
you just watch they will turn out great!

I love the Hayes family much more than the greedy Gosselins. The Hayes children can actually complete a sentence, are more mature and are acting like true 4 years olds, compared to the Gosselins who were born 4 months before the Hayes sextuplets. The Hayes parents even enjoy and hug their kids unlike Jon & Kate who do not even want their kids around them. The Gosselin kids are treated horrible by their parents to the point where it is disgusting. J&K are using their kids for money while the Hayes treat their kids with respect and love. I can just imagine if Kate had a child with a disability. She would lock it in the laundry room lying on the tile floor wrapped in plastic so the child would not add more work for her lazy, self-centered fat butt.

Unlike most of the negative posts here regarding the Gosselins, I loved the book “Multiple Bles8ings” and didn’t have dry eyes for a day and one-half, the time it took to read it. I salute Kate Gosselin and Beth Carson for realistically telling the story from conception to the birth of all eight of their children. It was filled with faith and compassion, hardship and humility, generosity and strength and acknowledged those who helped them along the way. I, who was never able to have children, love to watch their show. It fills a void in my life…one without children or grandchildren. I look forward to watching the Gosselin children grow up and develop their own distinctive personalities, whatever they may be. Diversity is what makes life interesting!

I DISAGREE with almost all of these comments. Jon and Kate plus 8 ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!To SueZ MADY (note her name only has 1 d)is a sweet girl and i hope she is not in therapy. There vshow shows that people do fight but u hear them constantly saying how much they love eachother. I love them, their kids and their show.

I agree with the comments from Gretchen. I enjoy the Gosselins. Who can say there’s no love in that family? They hug and kiss those kids all the time! I admire Kate’s organizational ways and I think they’re both doing a good job as parents. I’m newer to the show but have seen many episodes and just love it. I, too, was not able to have children, and it is truly an emptiness to face Christmases with no kids and grandkids. Enough time has passed to where I can enjoy other people’s happiness with their children and I feel privileged to be able to look in on the Gosselins. I wish I could eat some of those delicious, organic, made-from-scratch meals of Kate’s–if you notice, there’s not a fat kid in the bunch; they’re healthy! Why be mean-spirited? If you don’t like J&KPlus 8, just turn the channel!

If Kate thought she was being upstaged or that their show might end or be cut back, what do you think that she would run back to the fertility center for another Miracle Multiple Birth? She would probably want to try for eight in one shot this time.

i can not believe that most of you people leaving comments have the oddacity to talk about some one the way you are. You all must be perfect. have perfect families and lead perfect lives with perfect children and perfect husbands whom you never fight with. you also must donate all of your money to charities because heaven forbid some one provide for their families in an untraditonal way. it disgusts me to know that you guys get pleasure from talking about people in this way. if i knew you all personnally in a friend way i would begin to question my freindship to you and whether you are saying things about me behind my back. and also until you have had to endure the experience of being unable to naturally conceive please do not judge kate or any one else for that matter who has had to resort to the help of someone greater to give them the joy of raising children. every girl deserves to be a mother no matter how she gets there.

I love the Gosselin Family! I think the Hayes are sweet and I love Rebecca! But, I don’t want the Hayes to over power the Gosselins! The Gosselins are a perfectally fine and loving family! The Hayes are more I guess normal…THE FEED THEIR KIDS MCDONALADS!! The Gosselins would never to do that! I do agree that sometimes Jon and Kate can be strict but in the long run they are just doing what is best for their kids! They are bringing their kids up on what they believe and in my opinion are doing a perfectally good job. I know that it is a bit weird that the kids can”t have gum or eat junk food but Jon and Kate aren’t to blame. I do think they should be a bit more easy going but over all they are doing a FANTASTIC job! I really admire both families and think they are all different and have different ways for parenting! So please, keep you opinions to your selves! I actually LOVE the Gosselins and I know the are other people out there that do too! The Hayes are cool as well but they shouldn’t cancel Jon&Kate plus 8! They should keep both shows on TLC! But, as far as I’m concerned they have only aired ONE (1) episode of Twins, Twins, and Sextuplets! So IDK if they will continue to show the show or it was just a 1 hour documentary! Please if you support one family and have something against the other keep it to yourself! Thank You!

I’ve never seen the other show that’s being talked about, but John and Kate Plus 8 is a really good show. Reading these comments made me sick to my stomach. How many of you have eight kids all around that age? You don’t know what it’s like to have 8 kids so you have no room to talk. No, I don’t have eight kids either but I’m not judging them like a lot of you are.

Everyone takes care of their children differently. To have structure in their children’s lives is good. No, I don’t always agree with Kate and the way she treats John. But that doesn’t mean the whole family is a mess. Being a mother of 8 kids has to be stressful. Once the kids are a little older I’m sure things will get a little better. But whether she had two kids or eight kids she probably would have run her family the same way. Them eating organic food is good for them. I’m glad they’re not fed McDonald’s how many days a week because it’s easier. My parents made that mistake with me and I wish I would’ve learned healthier eating habits at a young age.

They clearly are not taking advantage of the system. If they’re not letting their kids make messes on themselves because they don’t want to keep buying new clothes. If TLC and others are giving them the clothes they are being grateful. Not wasting it.

For those of you saying they don’t love their kids..that’s horrible. They have one day with each of their kids where their kids get to pick what they want to do. Just with their parents. My parents had THREE kids and I didn’t get that.

I think Kate is doing an amazing job as a parent of eight kids. Saying they need to get a real job? You have eight kids and then go get a real job. Both parents. Where are you going to leave them every single day so you can go to work. If one parent works, fine. But they’re spending time everyday with their kids. To put that on someone to watch all 8 kids everyday while both of you went to work is a lot. They’re taking responsibility for their own kids right now.

You can’t tell me that if someone handed you all of that, you wouldn’t take it. But you can sit here and criticize everything this family does. Given the situation, I think they’re doing pretty well.

Stop judging other people when you only know what you see on camera. There should be no competition. There isn’t a competition on who has more kids because once you have enough kids, then neglect starts to happen and it’s one big mess.

Walk a mile in their shoes and then turn around and leave comments like this.

They are just trying to be more famous then the Gosselins but never gonna happen because you should see on youtube how much everybody the Gosselins and theres thousands of videos of the Gosselins and like 10 of the Hayes family! I feel alot more will be having multiples since they see all the handouts the Gosselins are getting. If they don’t have to work, why not have a bunch of kids and let the public pay your bills? This is rediculous. California octuplets are a good example. It’s now reported she already has six at home. TLC can bail them out too I guess.

you can’t “choose” to have multiples..sure you can have fertility treatments but that does not garuntee multpiples. Also jon a kate used a different type of fertility treatments called IUI were multiples are actually very uncommen. they are the exception. Jon and Kate had no idea they were going to have so many kids because they simply were not told that it was a great risk. So no i do not think a lot more people will be havung multiples. especially not if they can conceive naturally as fertility treatments are often uncomfortable and very stressful.

I disagree wiyh almost everyone the gosselins are a nice sweet family if you think that Kate is a control freak give her a break she has 8 kids for crying out loud and Mady she is a nice sweet little girl the only way she gets that way sometimes is because she gets jeolous by the little ones so give her a break I know I would to all the kids and Jon and Kate are so nice and sweet if you just look at them in a different way so give it a try

I love the Gosselins! I think they’re a really cute family. As for those who don’t like Kate… it’s GOOD that she’s such a neat freak! If she wasn’t, her family would be a mess. When you’ve got that many kids on your hands, it’s necessary to be super neat and organized. As for how she treats Jon, nobody is perfect. Are people under the impression that moms and dads never snap at each other and have their pet peeves? I know for a fact if my mom had this many kids, she would go INSANE, and I have a pretty normal family. This family is flawed, DUH. Everyone is supposed to be. That’s what makes them real. I have no sympathy nor interest in families which purposely plan to have sets of multiples and tons of kids. Let them stew in their own juice. The Gosselins are different as they only had one set of twins and then one more pregnancy and then they STOPPED. The Duggers are interesting to watch some strange religious sect trying to exist in 2009 with outdated beliefs of “worldly things”. No dancing, no tv, no computers, girls dressed like 1850, but apparently there is no problem with multiple dishwashers, commercial stoves, ovens and refrigerators, nor trucks and cars and modern medical.
