What do you drive?
Multiples=minivan, right? Once you have twins or more, you've got to trade in that sporty sedan for a mom-mobile. Well, not exactly. There are lots of auto options for families with multiples. As long as your vehicle can accommodate car seats, you can make it work. When my twins were babies, we did just fine with a four-door Toyota Camry. I held out until they were four, then finally relented and parked a Nissan Quest in my driveway. I loved the family-friendly features of my minivan, but I also didn't hesitate to trade it in for a small SUV once our carseat days were over. With tweens and teens, the most important feature is a third back seat, ensuring that there's plenty of room for extra friends and all their gear. My Acura MDX has plenty of room for them, and luxury features that make my life easier, a GPS system and rear-view camera.

SUV is the way to go. I went from a Toyota Camry to a Chevy Tahoe. I have a 5 year old daughter Jamie, and almost 3 years Jake and Josh. The Camry is WAY to small for kids . . .unless you are small people. I find it more comfortable and safe in the Tahoe. Unfortunately, gas is expensive!
I traded my well loved Accord for the 2005 CRV when I had now 3 1/2 Rose & Ryan- Thinking - silly me- that there’d be enough room for 2 girls, Mom, Dad and a duoglide stroller. While the CRV is a good height (for someone of average stature) for lifting infants/ toddlers in and out of carseats without standing on one’s head, I was delusional to think we’d have enough room for groceries and a stroller. oh well- it gets ok mileage(27mpg) and we’re finished w/ that stroller anyway.
We went from a Toyota Camry (love it) to a Ford Expedition before we had the boys, now 16 months. We have two older girls, 15 and 12, and while there is plenty of room for people there’s not a whole lot of room for strollers, groceries, book bags, etc. Plus the gas is a killer, too. We still use the Camry when its just my husband and I or the girls.
