Pregnancy Support Belts

Monday March 24, 2008
In a twin or multiple pregnancy, the extra weight and girth of an expanding uterus can be uncomfortable for mom. A pregnancy support belt -- also called harness, belly sling, cradle or maternity support -- can provide a solution. These products help lift and distribute the weight of the babies, easing back pain and reducing pressure.

Would you recommend a maternity support belt to pregnant moms of multiples? Join the discussion in the message forum about these products. Are they a comfort or an inconvenience? A relief or a restriction?

(1) Moschel Kadokura says:

I would absolutely recommend a belt. I was pregnant with triplets 18 years ago, so I’m sure the “technology” has improved. But, in the middle of the pregnancy, I would not have been able to get up at all without it. A little later, it took the belt and me physically supporting my belly. At the end of the pregnancy, well, I was a beached whale, and nothing would have helped! But a belt did extend my mobility and my helped my comfort level.
