It's one of the first questions that people ask about twins: are they identical or fraternal? It's not always an easy question to answer, as many parents don't know for sure. Zygosity is the term used to describe twintype. Most people describe twins as "fraternal" and "identical," but the more accurate terms are monozygotic and dizygotic. What about your multiples? I don’t know what type of twins mine are …. the doctor told us that they tested the placenta at the hospital and they said that they were identical…. but one has blonde hair, the other brown, one is 2 inches taller than the other and their eye color is different. They had seperate amniotic sacks but shared a chorionic sac. I was reading about polar body twins and am starting to wonder if maybe that is what they are. I would like some more info on polar body twins but can’t seem to find much.
