When Does It Get Easier?

Friday October 6, 2006
When does it get easier? I hear this question a lot from brand new parents of multiples. It's an interesting question, because lately I've been looking back on my own early days of motherhood and have been thinking that the challenges of caring for twinfants surely pale in comparison to the frustrations of daily life with tween twins! Regardless, here's an attempt to answer that curious question. When does it get easier?

My twin girls are almost five! Some things have gotten easier, but overall raising twins is not EVER going to be easy!!!

My fraternal twin boys are almost 2 1/2.
Someone said it gets easier after age 5.
Hopefully this is true, the terrible two’s are driving me crazy!!

I have teens and twins. They all have their moments. Different phases for different ages. One thing goes away and something different appears. I think we’re designed for short term memory only….

Life has definitely become easier with my fraternal twins (one of each) now 2 1/2. For all the hype about the “terrible two’s” (x2) things are SO much easier than they were a year ago. It was exciting watching all their firsts through infancy but I would definitely not wish to go back there!

I don’t think things get easier, they just become DIFFERENT. New challenges every day, no matter what their age.

My twins are a piece of cake compared to my older son who had horrific colic and screamed for 5-7 hours at a time. They are 6 months now and I try not to stress over the small stuff….I say all the time “it is what it is…” and “this too shall pass” ….I laugh when things are tough and accept the challenges instead of resist them. It has made everything a lot easier. WD

My twin boys are 2&4months old, extremly hard work,as they tend to get very bored quickly,so i’m constantly taking them out toget rid of their energy. One of my boys is very easy going & placid & the other tends to get jealous & frustrated, which results in very bad tantrums(& the naughty step!!)
