The Family Connection: Do Twins Run in Families?

One of the first things people ask parents of twins and multiples is, "Do twins run in your family?" Actually, the link between genetics and twinning is somewhat weak; a twin "gene" is only one of many factors that influence twinning, and only contributes to certain kinds of twins. I storngly believe that having kids in the family is a hereditary thing. Like in my friend’s case. She has twin sisters cause a member in her mother’s family had twins too and so her mother’s mother. So I guess it’s a family thing.
