Tuesday March 8, 2005

Even though lots of people voice their thoughts, that twins shouldn’t be dressed alike. No one has ever given me a GOOD reason to not dress them the same. They say you are forcing them to be a unit, or THEY can’t tell them a part. Well, I have twin girls, who happen to be fraternal, but no one would guess that, if it were not for me telling them they were not. And yes we dress them alike. The reasons; I am very picky on clothes. Because they have the same skin/hair/eye color, they look the best in the same colors. They are also the same height & weight, so the same styles of clothing look good on them. I refuse to say, “I like pink the best on you two, but hey you’re twins, so one of you is going to have to wear purple”. That’s insane. What looks good for the complexion, body type, and season that we are in, is what they wear. However, once they get to the age of telling me that they don’t want to dress alike, then so be it.*And one side note. We have other children in the family, and they have always dressed similar for outings. It is a safety thing for our family when we are out with all of the children. And also, we plan on putting our twins in private school when they are of age-so they will be wearing the same clothing there anyways. Lastly, for everyone who named their twins rhyming or with the same letter…which is worse? A “same name” for the rest of your life? Or dressing alike for the first years of your life? (our twins’ names neither sound the same, or start with the same letter.)
